Information: Jean-Marc Desclaux is a French artisan and former aircraft mechanic who founded Watch in Motion in 2016. Based in Annet-sur-Marne, France, he transforms authentic automobile and motorcycle engine blocks into bespoke watch winders, merging his passions for horology and automotive engineering. Each piece is handcrafted using materials like aluminum, stainless steel, carbon, and titanium, resulting in unique, functional artworks that showcase both mechanical precision and aesthetic design.
Each winder is built from the engine of a legendary sports car, here Jaguar. These are not replicas or parts inspired by the originals—they’re authentic, salvaged engines with historical and engineering significance.
Jean-Marc and his small team handcraft each piece in seclusion, transforming these engines into one-of-a-kind, fully functional and elegant watch winders. This involves custom fabrication, precision engineering, and high-end finishing.
Beyond the engine itself, each winder uses top-tier materials (carbon fiber, stainless steel, leather, etc.) and integrates advanced mechanical systems to care for high-end automatic watches.
These pieces double as functional sculptures—luxury décor with mechanical soul. They appeal to collectors of horology, automotive design, and fine art.
