Information: Georges was born in Paris in April 1925. At 17, during WWII, he began assisting renowned artist and poster designer Paul Colin, who introduced him to fashion, interiors, antiques, and the world of Parisian beauty.
After the war, Georges worked at Presse, assisting photographer Willy Rizzo before becoming a photojournalist for Le Tout-Paris. His flair for graphics and stylish women soon led him to fashion photography, capturing icons like Dorien Leigh, Suzy Parker, and Brigitte Bardot. Helene Lazareff, editor of ELLE, recognized his talent and brought him on board, where he pioneered outdoor model shoots in Paris.
Between 1960 and 1980, Georges founded two influential publications. In 1964, he launched Twenty, merging fashion and culture for a younger audience. In 1980, he helped shape V.S.D. into France’s second-most popular magazine, after Paris Match, by steering it toward arts and culture.
